01 — The word

Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu.

Ubuntu · noun · oo-BOON-too · Nguni (Zulu & Xhosa)

The belief that our humanity is shared: we become who we are through each other. It’s the idea behind our name, and it’s drawn into our logo, figures holding each other in a circle.

For us it means one simple thing: we don’t make clothes and walk away. Every piece connects the person wearing it to the people and animals it supports.

Ubuntu Wildlife Trust is a UK registered charity (no. 1189781, founded 2020), with a South African non-profit based in Hluhluwe. A few Devon villages apart, they’re also our neighbours.
